• Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyzstan found in the Chuy valley at the northern foot of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too on an inclined plane, at an elevation of 700-900 meters above sea level. Bishkek City Hotel is about 40 km drive from the airport. Ala-Too Square, Opera and Ballet Theater, State Historical Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, World National Library etc. And a very interesting point to note is that Bishkek is the only city in Central Asia where the monument to Lenin is found. Ala-Archa State Natural Park is found in Kyrgyzstan at a distance of 41 km from its capital on the northern slope of the Kyrgyz Range at an altitude of 1600-4860 m. It covers an area of 2280 hectare. It begins from the high centre of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too and stretches north to the Ala-Archa gorge. This is incredible, probably best described as an alpine with abundant wildflowers and seething mountain streams, glaciers and open spaces of the scenery of the mountains. This is a great place for hiking as most of the canyon is protected as part of the Kyrgyz National Natural Park. The gorge is 35 km long, and the encompassing mountains are massive, where some of the largest glaciers are found. 

• Alamedin Gorge

This is the highest mountain gorge most neighboring to Bishkek. The gorge, in addition to its amazing nature and a very large extent, is remarkable for its hot radon springs and a resort complex known as Teply Klyuch. The small distance from the city makes this place very engaging among tourists, as you can get into the uncommonly mountains at any moment of the day, completely in an hour, from stuffy Bishkek. Amidst the interesting places in the gorge, it is worth seeing the Alamedin waterfall, positioned 5 kilometers from the end of the highway. Noteworthy is the woods called “Silent Backwater”, which is found at the junction of the Salyk stream in the Alamedin River, which is found very close to the waterfall mentioned above. People who enjoy long hikes will love it in Altyn-Tor Lake, which is 20 kilometers distant into the gorge and the tricky passage through the Alamedin Pass to Issyk-Ata Gorge.

• Chunkurchak

 It is one of the smallest yet the most beautiful gorges of Kyrgyzstan. It is found 45 kilometers from the city of Bishkek, in the upper stretches of the Alamedin River. On the territory of the gorge is the National Biosphere Reserve, the idea of which was to preserve rare species of tulips. Chunkurchak Gorge is apt for climbing. Adventure seekers will surely get thrilled by the steep slopes and mountains of the gorge, the surface of which is rather slippery and covered with thin ice. That is why in the ravine international competitions on driving are held. 

• Chon-Kemin

 A tour to the Chon-Kemin Gorge and the valley of the same name is a unique natural zone, which is located in the northern part of Kyrgyzstan. In this beautiful valley, there is a national park. Chon-Kemin is renowned for its length, being a narrow gorge in its eastern part, it gradually expands, forming a wide valley in the central part and again merging at the very exit. In its lower part, the valley has a height of 1400 meters, rising in the upper part to 2800. The length of the turbulent and full-flowing river flowing through the gorge is 116 kilometres, and it is a favourite place for rafting enthusiasts.

• Burana-Kegeti

 The Burana Tower is the major monument of the ancient culture of the Chuy Valley and the legendary Great Silk Road passing through its territory. Back then, this tower was the highest minaret in Central Asia. It was the heart of the capital of the state of Karakhanids, the city of Balasagun. Its first height was 40 meters, but due to the earthquake, the upper part of the tower collapsed and since then the height of the tower is 21 meters at present. 

 Kegety is a gorge on the northern slope of the Kyrgyz ridge, located 70 kilometers from Bishkek and 20 kilometers from Tokmok. It differs from other gorges on the Kyrgyz Range by its extraordinary width and spaciousness and is very beautiful for a variety of tourists, from sky runners or fanatics of leisurely walks to cycling tourists everyone will love this place.
