We bring to your attention an unusual tour, during which you will see amazing temples and sights of the small mountain state of Sikkim, which is located among the majestic Himalayas, at the foot of one of the sacred summits - Kanchenjunga - "Treasures of five snows". It is the third highest peak in the world, its height is 8585 m. Beautiful, breathtaking views of this mountain open from Darjeeling and Pelling. The state is also known for its extraordinary natural beauty, a great variety of flora and fauna, as well as an amazing atmosphere of peace and tranquility! Summer is the most comfortable season for visiting these places, there is not that heat that reigns these days in other parts of India.

  • Day 1 Delhi

    Upon arrival in the Indian capital of New Delhi, you will be greeted by a representative of Sushant Travels at the international airport named after Indira Gandhi. Then transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.

  • Day 2 Delhi-Bagdogra-Darjeeling

    In the morning after breakfast, check-out, and transfer to the airport for a flight to Bagdogra. Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to Darjeeling (110 km approximately 2 hours), "Queen of the hills". Situated at an altitude of 2258m above sea level, among the picturesque green hills framed by snowy peaks, where Kanchenjunga shines, Darjeeling provides a great place for those who seek harmony with nature. This city is also the world's famous center for growing and processing tea. In total there are more than 80 plantations, on which annually more than 10 million kg of tea is collected. On the way to Darjeeling, you will visit the Buddhist monastery Bokar (Bokar Ngedhon Choekhor Ling, 1984), painted in bright red and yellow tones, in Mirik. Situated on the top of a hill, this monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings. The monastery adheres to the traditions of the Mahayana school of Buddhism and is dedicated to the teachings of "Kalachakra". About 200 monks live in the monastery. Here they teach the practice of meditation Karma Kagyu. Then you continue your journey to Darjeeling. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. Overnight in Darjeeling.

  • Day 3 Darjeeling

    Early in the morning you will set off to meet the dawn on the Tigris Hill (2590 m) , a place that has gained worldwide fame due to the magnificent panorama of the dawn over the glistening Kanchenjunga and other majestic peaks of the eastern Himalayas, such as Makalu (8475m) and Janu (7710m). Even Mount Everest (8,848 m), the highest peak in the world, is visible from the Tigris hill on a clear, sunny day. The exact time of departure from the hotel for an excursion to the Tigris Hill depends on the time of the dawn at this time of the year and is updated closer to the date of travel. Also, the availability of this excursion depends on the conditions of visibility, especially in winter (from December to February) and in the rainy season (July to September). On the way back you will visit the Buddhist monastery of Ghum, also known as "Yogachoeling Gompa." The monastery was founded by a Mongolian astrologer in 1875. Inside the central entrance to the monastery is a huge statue of the sitting Buddha of Maitreya (the coming Buddha). Lord Maitreya sits on the throne, his legs are not crossed according to the Eastern custom, but are lowered to the ground. This is a sign of the Lord's coming soon. Nicholas Roerich participated in the reconstruction of the monastery. There are also bells inside the monastery, richly ornamented tanks in scrolls and prayer drums. Like many other monasteries in the Darjeeling area, this Gompa is a fount of rare Buddhist manuscripts. Return to the hotel, breakfast and departure for a guided tour of Darjeeling. At the beginning of the tour you will visit the Hindu temple of Dirham, dedicated to the five-faced Shiva. This temple resembles the famous Pashupatinath temple in Nepal. A distinctive feature of the temple of Dirham is its roof, with elements of Tibetan temple architecture. Then you will poison yourself in a short 30 minute but fascinating journey on a toy train through the picturesque hills of the foothills of the Himalayas to Batasia Loup, a viewing platform that offers a magnificent view of Darjeeling, Kanchenjunga and other peaks of the eastern Himalayas (departure of the train at 10:40, the possibility of a trip is subject to check on the date of the excursion). Next you will visit Padmadji Naidu Zoo, which is considered the only zoo in the world, breeding the Tibetan wolf in captivity. He is also the first zoo in South Asia to breed a snow leopard and an Amur tiger. Rare red pandas can also be seen here. Tibetan Refugee Relief Center from Tibet (closed on Sundays) with its own church and school. Here you will see the Tibetans, who produce exquisite handmade products: woolen carpets, scarves, wood products, leather and much more. After lunch you will visit the Buddhist monastery of Bhutia Basti Gompa(1861), relating to the school "Nigmap" of Tibetan Buddhism (20-25 minutes walk to the gompa). The monastery is located on the background of the majestic Kanchenjunga and has a huge library, in which a collection of Tibetan and Buddhist books is collected. It also holds the original of the famous book "The Tibetan Book of the Dead." Then you go to the Observatory Hill(30 minute walk), from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of Darjeeling, where you will visit the Mahaikal Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. Once upon a time there was a Buddhist monastery called Dorje Ling ("Lightning Strike Place") destroyed in 1815 and again rebuilt in a new place in 1861 (the present Bhuti Basti), so here the Hindu priests still share the common altar with Buddhist monks, harmoniously coexisting together. Hundreds of Buddhist prayer flags flutter over this holy place, which is very popular, both with Buddhist and Hindu believers.

  • Day 4 Darjeeling-Pelling

    After an early breakfast at the hotel - transfer to Pelling, which is also otherwise called Pmayangtse (check-out at 7:30). On the way, you will visit the Happy Valley tea plantation. The most elite Indian type of tea "Darjeeling", appreciated by the English for the refined, slightly tart taste grows here. The age of some tea bushes reaches 100-150 years. The garden is located at an altitude of 2750 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most high-altitude plantations in the world. (The collection of tea takes place from mid-March to mid-November). Continuation of the way to Pelling, a small picturesque town, located on the slopes of a mountain range with superbly rich flora and fauna and picturesque views of the Himalayan peaks. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Later tour in the monastery of Pmayangtse is the main attraction of this small town and one of the main monasteries of Sikkim. The monastery began its existence as a small temple, when in 1705 it was founded by the Lama Latsun Chemko. Originally, the temple was intended for "ta-sang" - monks of "pure faith", i.e. higher rank. The monastery became the most revered in Sikkim, it was visited by the royal family, and the lamas of Pmayangtse sanctified the power of monarchs. Later the church was rebuilt into a monastery and monks of other ranks also got access to it. Fabulously beautiful, the temple is in a picturesque place with a view of the sacred Kanchenjunga, which, undoubtedly, causes a spiritual uplift from the faithful. The monastery houses numerous sculptures of Buddhist deities, manuscripts, and objects of worship, most of which are priceless. Also, you will seethe ancient ruins of Rabdangze , which once (from 1670 to 1814) served as the capital of Sikkim and was destroyed by the invading Nepalese army. A 30-minute walk along a paved path through a beautiful mountain forest will lead you to the ruins of the former palace of the rulers of Sikkim, from where you can see an amazing view of the valley. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 5 Pelling-Gangtok

    Early in the morning, a walk (45 minutes walk from Pelling) to Sangacholing Monastery is the "place of secret spells", one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, famous for its colorful wall paintings. The monastery was built in 1697 and belongs to the same Gelugpa school as Pmayangtse. The creation of this monastery was dedicated to Guru Rinpoche. Then return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast departure from Pelling to Gangtok (1750 m above sea level), which became the capital of Sikkim in the middle of the 19th century. As the basis of his name was taken Sikkim word "mountain top". The city descends the slope of a long ridge of hills along the Ranipul River. The main symbol of Bon (or Bon-po) is a swastika (in Tibetan young-drong), and the word "Bon" comes from the yun-drun-gi-bong, which means "repeating secret formulas." About this religion there are the most contradictory opinions. Some researchers believe that it is a synthesis of witchcraft and fetishism (sacrifices are made in Bon rites, spirits are caused, etc.). Others, considering Bon the primordial religion of Tibet, turn to the ancient secret knowledge of its guardians - monks and monasteries of the Bon religion. Further you will visit one of the most revered and significant monasteries of Sikkim, the Ralang monastery. This large colorful monastery of the Kagyupa school is famous for its exquisite collection of tank and wall paintings. But the main distinguishing feature of the monastery is sacred dance of masks "Tsam" and dance "Mahakal", performed by monks during the annual festival "Pang Lhabsol" (held from September to early December), as one of the ritual worship of the sacred Kanchenjunga.   • Day 6 Gangtok

    After breakfast - a tour of Gangtok. As a basis for its name is taken Sikkim word "mountain peak". The city descends the slope of a long ridge of hills along the Ranipul River. From many points of the city a stunning view of Kanchenjunga opens. First you will visit one of the largest and most beautiful monasteries of Sikkim, the monastery of the Karma Kagyu Rumtek (24 km from Gangtok), the place from where Gyalwa Karmapa (16th Karmapa) rules, is the head of the Kagyu current in Tibetan Buddhism. Known also as the center of Dharma Chakra, this beautiful monastery houses a beautiful temple with exquisite wall paintings and rich interior decoration, as well as a residential complex for monks. Here are stored priceless ancient manuscripts and artfully painted tanks. The main attraction of the monastery is the Golden Stupa, which stores relics of the 16th Karmapa. There is also a college for studying Buddhism and Tibetan philosophy. Near the monastery are cells, where the monks retire to complete solitude for a period of up to three years. Then return to Gangtok and visit Chorten Do Drule(1944), one of the most important and large stupas in Sikkim, about which there are 108 prayer wheels engraved on one of the sacred and powerful mantras of Tibetan Buddhism, Om Mani Padme Hum. Later you will visit the 200-year-old monastery of Enche- an important place for the Nyingma Order, since it contains the throne of the head of the order. About 90 monks live here. The monastery was built on the site, which according to the legend was blessed by Lama Druptab Karpo, the master of Tantra, known for having mastered the art of levitation. The monastery is high above Gangtok, from where beautiful views of the city and Kanchenjungu open. The walls of the monastery and the prayer hall are decorated with marvelous frescoes on the theme of Buddhism cosmogony Buddhism "Mahayana". On the frescoes you will see images of the keepers of the four sides of the world and other tantric deities. Continue the program visit the Research Institute of Tibetology Namgyal, which was founded in 1958 and is the only institution in the world that promotes the Mahayana movement in Buddhism, as well as research and development of the culture, language and traditions of Tibet. The Institute has a very valuable collection of tanks, objects of worship and life, sacred relics. Here is the Library of Tibetan Manuscripts, where the most significant collection of manuscripts taken from Tibet is collected. The Institute has more than 30,000 ancient documents available for study.   • Day 7 Gangtok-Kalimpong

    After an early breakfast drive to Kalimpong (7:30). Located in the green expanses of the middle Himalayas, this mountain resort is unusually beautiful against the background of azure sky and proudly rising snowy Himalayan peaks. In this city there is a rare ethnic mixture of beautiful mountain nationalities, and it also attracts with its natural beauty and charm. Upon arrival in Kalimpong - accommodation in the hotel and then departure for a tour of the city. This place, connected with the memory of Helena Roerich, who lived for many years in Kalimpong, writing books of Living Ethics. The climate of Kalimpong is ideal for cultivating such exotic flowers as lilies, anthuriums, gerbera roses, dahlias, gladiolus, and also orchids and cacti. Therefore, in Kalimpong there are several dozens of flower greenhouses. At the beginning of the tour you will visit the flower greenhouse "Pine View". Then you will go to the monastery of Zhang Dhok Parli Pkhodang or the monastery of Durpi, located in the town of Durpin Dara. From here you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The monastery is famous for its rare collection of Tibetan Buddhist manuscripts and an excellent private library for studying Tibetan and other Himalayan languages ​​and culture. The prayer hall inside the monastery is decorated with frescoes, here is also a rare three-dimensional mandala, which symbolizes the sphere of dwelling deities or the so-called "pure lands of buddhas". In a small garden near the monastery you will see a simple snow-white stupa, built by monks at the cremation site of Elena Roerich, in which some of her ashes are believed to be kept. Then you will be visited by the monastery of Tharpa Choling(founded in 1912), located on the hill Tirpai. The monastery belongs to the Tibetan Buddhist school of Gelugpa (yellow-capped monks), to which the present Dalai Lama belongs. Currently, there are about 55 monks living here. In the monastery there is a library of Tibetan manuscripts and a collection of paintings of the tank. Then you will visit the house of Dr. Graham - an old school where the children of tea plantation workers study. The beauty of the forest surrounding the school, lit by the warm sun, and the chirping of lots of exotic birds will truly enchant nature lovers. Complete the excursion program to visit the town of Dello Hills(1914 m above sea level), which offers a beautiful view of the mountains and valley, as well as the house-museum of the Roerich family "Crooket House", a two-story mansion overlooking the snow-capped summit of the Kanchenjunga mountain. It was in it, after the death of Nicholas Roerich lived, working on the books of Living Ethics, his wife Helena Roerich, along with her son, an outstanding Orientalist-Tibetologist Yuri Roerich (the possibility of visiting the Roerich's house museum depends on the permission of the owners of the house).   • Day 8 Kalimpong-Bagdogra-Delhi
