Tips that you need to know before visiting Taj Mahal

Is there a view more iconic, more elegant, more charming and magnificent than the Taj Mahal?

Honestly speaking, we can’t think of one. Out of many monuments, there is no such mausoleum which was dedicated in the name of love, the building is a masterpiece built with high quality of white Makrana Marble, for one’s favourite wife… There is no better reason to travel than seeing its glory in close up. It is a fascinating art, built-in Agra, India between 1631 and 1648. It is the perfect moment to take some stunning photos. To help visitors prepare for their Taj Mahal tours, we have prepared a short guide.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE TAJ MAHAL:

  • Patience is the key before you visit be prepared to be enclosed by hundreds or thousands of people, including Indian men, women and children who may ask to take photos with you. The entry queue can be slightly longer during peak season but as long as you are mentally ready, you will be fine.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE TAJ MAHAL:

  • It is better you keep your valuables in the hotel always. There are lockers available at the Taj but it’s best to have minimal belongings with you when you visit so you don’t have to spend too much time checking in.

You can get these essential following in one small bag:

There is no dress code as such but you should still be respectful. If you want to enter the mosque, you need to cover your head, shoulders and knees. The weather in Agra gets hot and there is very little shade, so wear light clothing and make sure you wear sunscreen. Agra gets very cold in winter (Nov-Feb) so warm clothes are suggested if you visit at this time.
