Lake composition consists of an essential component of the Himachal scenery. Some are millions of years old developed due to the Tectonic movements, others are relatively new. These sustained lakes are also distinctive in character. If one lake is frozen throughout the year, others still are hot geysers where temperature touches to 50-degree centigrade. 

Dashir Lake found at a high altitude is one of the most impressive lakes that can be seen in the Himachal Pradesh. Positioned near Rohtang pass that connects Kullu district with Lahaul. This lake is an absolute treasure home for nature buff. Crystal clear cobalt water lets you see right through the lake. 

The landscape at the backdrop is equally majestic. Rugged mountain cliffs, stunning waterfalls and small Himachal village nestled amidst the valleys makes it a perfect getaway destination and a great escape from the hustle bustle life.

Dashir Lake is regarded as sacred by the locals and the water of the lake is deemed to be therapeutic in nature. The depth of the lake is 3 to 4 meters. 

Check out the pile of rocks resting with geometrical correctness at the foot of the Dashir Lake. Be careful not to spoil the arrangement or carry off one of these rocks as it is believed to be unlucky by the locals.

WHAT IS DASHIR LAKE FAMOUS FOR:

The Dashir lake is famous for trekking sport. On your way, you can find Rani Nalla is well known amongst the shepherds who come to tend their herds. They stay in caves found here for days together. It has many boulders and small rocks where you can also give a try for rock climbing, where our trained guides will assist you. 

Enjoy a bonfire at night and the musical gush of the river, along which the tents are pitched. The reflection of the moon on this crystal clear lake at night gives an unbelievable and incredible views, which makes your trek to this place very worthy. 

HOW TO REACH DASHIR LAKE:

You can reach Dashir Lake by the Manali highway, you can hire a cab from Manali and drive towards Rohtang Pass. 

The Dashir lake is a few minutes drive from Rohtang.

The best time to visit Dashir Lake is during late spring and early winter seasons.
