Upon arrival in Delhi, meet with the representative of Sushant Travels, post transfer to airpoort for boarding to Bagdogra flight, Delhi-Bagdogra. Transfer to Darjeeling (93km / ~ 3h). The Queen of the Himalayas - Darjeeling freely located in the middle of the greatness and beauty of the snow peaks, crowned with a mighty eight thousandths called Kangchenjunga. Famous varieties of tea with a unique flavor, brought Darjeeling fame throughout the world. The atmosphere of the Victorian era is preserved in this city in everything: ancient villas, hotels, shops, cozy cafes. Nearby, numerous bazaars rustle, and in the central part of the city there is a railway station, from where in the morning the famous Toy Train sets off - an almost antiquarian phenomenon, a real greeting from the century before last. Early in the morning, an excursion to the Tiger Hill (12km / ~ 30min) is the highest point in the vicinity of Darjeeling (2585m), from where a grand panorama of the Himalayan eight-thousand mountains, led by Everest and Kangchenjunga. Especially beautiful and majestic are these peaks at dawn, illuminated as the sun rises in all sorts of colors from pastel to bright gold. On the way back visit two Buddhist monasteries of Ghum and Dali. In the evening you can wander around the city and see the Observatory Hill, the Hindu temple of the goddess Kali, the Himalayan Institute of Mountaineering. Overnight in Darjeeling hotel.
In the morning departure to Pelling (75km / ~ 4h). Visit one of the oldest monasteries of Sikkim - Pemayangtse, in which magnificent statues and paintings have been preserved. Here is stored in the smallest details a majestic three-meter voluminous mandala, depicting according to the Buddhist teachings the dimension in which Guru Padmasambhava resides. Then visit the monastery of Sanga Choeling (otherwise it sounds like Sanag Choling), on the way to it you will have to make a small hiking trip uphill. Here you can see wonderful wall paintings and beautiful statues, and on the territory of the monastery picturesque stupas, complementing the picture of the majestic landscape with a panorama of the famous peaks of the eight-thousand-meter mountains. Transfer to Yuksom. On the way to Yuksom, you can see the sacred lake Khecheopalri in the midst of the forests. It is impossible not to admire the picturesque scenery of Sikkim, floating before the eyes of travelers, and the shortstops at the magnificent waterfalls, sacred lakes, healing springs and majestic statues and stupas are a perfect addition to the main adventure. Yuksam (otherwise Yoksu or Yuksom) is the ancient capital of the kingdom of Sikkim, wherein the 17th century (in 1642) the coronation of the first ruler took place. At this place now there is a park with monasteries and three stone thrones of Norbugang, where the lamas were sitting, who conducted the first coronation ceremony (in honor of which the name of the capital arose. Transfer to Gangtok - the capital of the state of Sikkim (135km/5h), on the way, visit the monasteries of Tashiding and Ralong (aka Ravangla). Tashiding Monastery - the most sacred place of Sikkim, was built in the early 18th century on the site where the arrow of Guru Padmasambhava fell, and where he blessed these lands. To the monastery leads a steep hiking (500m). Here is the Stupa Giving Release - it is considered who will see it at least once, will not fall after death to hell or other unfavorable worlds. Around there are quite a lot of typical for the Tibetan Buddhist culture stones with embossed mantras. Such a mantra can be ordered to a special master and thereby wish his relatives and all living creatures, including himself, happiness and fulfillment of desires. Hotel accommodation. In the morning drive to the world-famous Rumtek Monastery (24 km) to the residence of the head of one of the four major Buddhist schools. The beautiful building, built in the 60s, repeats the outlines of the residence of this school in Tibet, which was destroyed by the Chinese during the occupation. The sacred gilded stupa, decorated with semiprecious stones, is built opposite the Karma Sri Nalanda Institute, where Buddhist monks undergo 9-year training. Further the Monastery of Ranka (Lingdum). In the afternoon, visit the Dro Dul Chorten monastery and the Enchey monastery (aka Enchi), built on the site of the lama's seclusion, which had extraordinary abilities. In the evening, you can wander around the city and see the Assembly building, Buddha statues, and Guru Padmasambhava, the building of the Tibetan Institute and the library of Tibetan manuscripts, as well as workshops of traditional handicrafts - carpet weaving, woodcarving, and painting. In the morning departure to Kalimpong (83km/3h). Kalimpong - a small town at an altitude of about 1000m, which until 1865 was the royal residence of Bhutan. The Roerichs chose this very picturesque place for the purchase of a second manor in the Himalayas (the first is in Manali). Kalimpong has long been and especially in the era of British rule played an important role as a shopping center on its way to Tibet. Here, as in Sikkim, in the spring luxury orchids blossom, and as in Darjeeling, tea is grown. Excursion with a visit to the Flower Greenhouse, the Zangdok Monastery of Palry Panjang Monastery (aka Zang Dog Palry Po-Brang). Zandok Palry Pangang is one of the city's largest monasteries, it contains relics and sacred texts taken by the Dalai Lama from Tibet. Then visit the monasteries of Durpin Dara, Tharpa Choling, and Tongsa Gompa.
