Trekking Tour Malana (Himachal Pradesh)
Below the Chanderkhani Pass in the Kullu Valley there is a small settlement, about two hundred stone roofs of the houses that make up the village called Malana. Here its unique culture and temple Jamlu (Jamlu). The village consists of 1500 inhabitants and has an impeccable management system, guided by the spirit of the village of Bog Djamlu. Malana stands out as an autonomous, self-sufficient unit where residents claim to have a Greek origin. Some stories about the village call it "little Greece". This village in the interior of the Himalayan mountains has its own architecture, language, rituals of worship and an autonomous administrative system. Malana connects with Kullu with three mountain passes. It can be reached from the Parvati Valley, passing through the Rashol Pass (3180 meters) or from the village of Naggar (3600 meters) and the beautiful scenery of the Chanderkhani Pass. The easiest way to get to Malana is via Chokki, this is a small village and the nearest village to Malana. However, the Choki people have nothing in common with the people of Malana. For outsiders, there is a long list of tips that need to be followed when touching the life of the village. The people of Malana are friendly, but outsiders are
advised to keep the distance and not touch anything unnecessary. Malana is seprated into two parts - (Dhara Bhed) the upper Malana and the (Sora Bhed) lower Malana.
Kanashi is the Malan language - Kanashi does not resemble any of the dialects in the neighborhoods, but it seems that it is a mixture of Sanskrit and several Tibetan dialects. Two important holidays are celebrated in the village: Badoh Mela in August, and Fagli Mela in February.
