Rise early and enjoy a delicious breakfast after which you board the coach for the 265 km 5-hour drive to Mandawa located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, known for its fresco paintings. It is late afternoon by the time we arrive and check into a nice hotel room where you can relax before setting out to visit the Havelis for which Mandawa is famous. Each haveli is a gem with its intricate filigreed screens and walls with paintings. The haves date back to the 18th and 19th century and a walk in the lanes is a trip down memory lane.
Breakfast over, the group sets out on a local tour of Jaipur starting with the Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 17th century followed by a visit to the modern City Palace he built. Part of it is still the residence of the royal family and part is a museum that gives you a glimpse into the richly royal past of Jaipur. Spend the evening exploring the bylanes or dining out.
Breakfast and join the group for a tour of the Amber Fort, about 11 km from Jaipur. Amber Fort was once the seat of power of the Jaipur Maharajas who then shifted to the new City Palace. However, the Fort houses a number of palaces and a Museum that give you a good idea of how life was in those days. Enjoy a ride on an elephant’s back if you so like and take away rich memories. After lunch, the group boards the coach for the 130 Km 3 hour long drive across the scenic desert countryside to Pushkar, the site of one of the largest fairs. Pushkar is home to the Brahma Temple, the only temple in the world dedicated to him. Visit this temple and go boating on the Pushkar Lake.

On the way, we stop at Ajmer for a visit to the Khwaja Garibnawaz dargah, where, it is said, you can make a wish and it is fulfilled. The group boards the coach for the onward drive to Udaipur and you can see a cross section of Rajasthan as the miles fly past. Arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel room. You can go out in the evening for a boat ride on the Pichola Lake and explore the bazaars to buy some handicraft items.
